S.R. Smith PAL Lift Secure-It Kit

The PAL Secure-It Kit is specially designed to quickly and easily secure the PAL to the deck per the Technical Assistance Bulletin published by the Department of Justice on January 31, 2012. The PAL Secure-It Kit includes all the hardware necessary to give owners the option of securing the lift to the deck using an anchored solution.

Customers that purchased a PAL lift after January 31, 2012 can contact S.R. Smith customer service to receive a PAL Secure-It Kit free of charge (Customer must provide dated copy of purchase order to receive free kit). The PAL Secure-It Kit is available for purchase for customers who purchased lifts prior to January 31, 2012.

NOTE: For pools where it is not readily achievable to secure the lift to the pool deck. The DOJ addressed this specific issue in a communication to the AH&LA on February 21, 2012.

“If installation of a fixed lift or sloped entry is not readily achievable, then a public accommodation may consider alternatives such as use of a portable pool lift that is not affixed to the pool facility but incorporates features that in all other respects comply with the 2010 Standards, or the public accommodation may consider other readily achievable accessible means of entry, such as a transfer wall or pool stairs.”
